TAKEN IN is a handmade feature film about a man who must spend a weekend alone with his estranged teenage daughter at a roadside resort. It is here that Simon and Brooklyn must confront the issues that have driven them apart, and ultimately choose how they will move forward...together or alone.

TAKEN IN was written and directed by personal filmmaker, Chris White. It was made entirely with cash and in-kind contributions from friends and family. The story (co-written with his wife Emily), was inspired by Chris’ theatre work with students at a therapeutic boarding school. The film is dedicated to his own teenage daughter, Gibson.

TAKEN IN was filmed at South of the Border, Dillon SC USA in the Spring of 2011.

Susanne Pelt

When you see the end credits for the film (after you look to find your own name, of course), be sure to note that "Producer" credit has been given to Susanne Pelt.

Susanne is the marketing and public relations person at South of the Border, and has been there for many years. We quite literally couldn't have made this film without her believing in us and making our locations available and affordable.

Every day we we on location, Susanne made something better for us, easier, more perfect. From finding us a water hose, to making IDs for our crew, to personally walking us in to various stores, restaurants, and attractions to help us find the perfect location for a certain scene or shot...Susanne was a tireless ally to me as a director, Jennifer Baxley as our line producer, and our entire cast and crew.

Thank you, Susanne!
